Playdough

This is a fun recipe to make with kids.
Get out a small mixing bowl for 1-2 kids.
We made 3 bowls, with 6 kids, just pair the little ones up with the bigger ones.
Have the measuring cups and spoons ready with the appropriate ingrediant.

It worked really well to have each group take one cup of flour first,
then move onto the salt, etc.  putting away each ingrediant to minimize the mess!!

Play dough Recipe

1 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup Salt
2 Tb Cream of Tarter

Mix together then add:

1Tb Oil
1 Cup Cold Water
Food Coloring

At this point once it is mixed throughly you are ready to pour the mixture into a medium size kettle.
Cook at a medium high heat, stirring constantly.
I had the older kids stirring until it started to thicken.
Then you need to stir vigourously until all the playdough forms away from the sides.
Remove from heat and knead gently with your hands.
Be careful, the playdough is hot!

Let it cool off and the kids can have a blast playing with it!
Get the little cars and animals out, plastic knives, rolling pins.
It kept my kids entertained for a long time!!

Store in an airtight container.

Popcorn!

Jolly Time Popcorn For those of you who know my husband, he has a sense of humor that I love! He's been making fun of me for taking soooo many pictures of FOOD lately. When I started taking this impromptu video of him making popcorn, he got right into it! Jolly Time Popcorn: Pour  about 1/ 2 cup oil in the kettle.  May need to adjust measurements to fit your kettle size. Turn to a high heat and add 1/2 cup kernels. Be sure to keep a close eye on it and shake it to keep the kernels from burning. Once all the kernels stop popping remove from heat and salt. When Jeff and I first got married I didn't eat popcorn. I really didn't like getting the kernels stuck between my teeth! Then he introduced me to Tiny Tender Popcorn and Ladyfinger. I couldn't believe the difference! Every time we go to Indiana, Ohio or Pennsylvania we buy as much as we can. We can go through a 50 lb bag in about 1 year! It's a relatively healthy snack, and it
