Stromboli

Mmm....Stromboli is not something I have made often, but since I have tried this recipe, my family has fallen in love with it!  It is quite simple - after I figured out what meat I needed to have on hand to make it.  I don't keep pepperoni or salami in my refrigerator.

Stromboli
1 loaf frozen bread dough
(I used Whole Wheat Bread -recipe on blog)
2 T. melted butter
6 slices cooked salami
6 slices American cheese
6 slices baked or chipped ham
1/2 c. shredded mozarella cheese
Mayonnaise to spread
Oregano to taste
Pepperoni slices (optional)

Roll thawed dough to cover cookie sheet.  Spread melted butter on both sides. (I missed this and it still tasted awesome.)  Layer salami, American cheese (I didn't have any - still tasted great), ham and pepperoni in the center (or along one side as shown here.)  Spread mayo.  Shake on mozarella cheese and oregano.  Fold in half and seal edges.  Turn over and bake at 375 degrees for 20-30 minutes.  Yield 4-6 servings

James helped by rolling out the dough
and by layering the meat and cheese.

Spread a layer of Mayonnaise over meat

I substitued shredded cheese since I didn't have American cheese.
I forgot to spread the mayo before I put the cheese on -
don't forget to do it first - it's hard to spread mayo onto shredded cheese!

All ready to go into the oven.
I cut the lines in the top to prevent bubbling.
We used the whole recipe for bread dough -
so that was tons more dough than you would get with the purchased frozen dough.

I brushed it with butter when it came out of the oven.

Eyeing it up....  She made a mini!

Very filling - definetly comfort food on a cold night!
I don't make it often but we really enjoy it when I do!

Popcorn!

Jolly Time Popcorn For those of you who know my husband, he has a sense of humor that I love! He's been making fun of me for taking soooo many pictures of FOOD lately. When I started taking this impromptu video of him making popcorn, he got right into it! Jolly Time Popcorn: Pour  about 1/ 2 cup oil in the kettle.  May need to adjust measurements to fit your kettle size. Turn to a high heat and add 1/2 cup kernels. Be sure to keep a close eye on it and shake it to keep the kernels from burning. Once all the kernels stop popping remove from heat and salt. When Jeff and I first got married I didn't eat popcorn. I really didn't like getting the kernels stuck between my teeth! Then he introduced me to Tiny Tender Popcorn and Ladyfinger. I couldn't believe the difference! Every time we go to Indiana, Ohio or Pennsylvania we buy as much as we can. We can go through a 50 lb bag in about 1 year! It's a relatively healthy snack, and it
